I got this book after seeing it on Mythbusters. Now I understand why they have it. This is an incredible little book. It is clear, understandable, and well put together.I recommend this to everyone period. I think every house should have one of these books because it is packed full of data that may come in handy during a major emergency or when you simply need to build/fix/improve/understand something.Everyone I know who has looked at it has bought a copy for themselves.

Buy this book! You won’t regret it!

This book pretty well has every bit of information that could be useful in everyday life, things from chemistry, mathematical formulas, electrical wiring, tools, fasteners (bolts, screws nails, and their best uses), there's airport codes in it, area codes, glues, solvents and paint, general science, conversion tables, and even knots. There's a little bit of everything for both the handyman at home and science oriented people. It's a great reference to have.The only detraction on this is the print is incredibly tiny. For me that's fine, but my father couldn't read it. So I purchased the desk ref edition for him and kept the pocket ref for myself. Great books, the both of them. Just keep in mind if your eyesight is a bit poorer you may want to grab the desk ref version instead. For someone like my father who is getting up there in age and eyesight not as great, I would highly recommend the desk version over the pocket version. Desk Ref, Hard Cover

It is a great conversation piece. It is perfect for setting up and winning rigged bets with friends. This book is a grand opportunity irritate friends and family with useless little facts about things they have absolutely no interest in knowing. It's nice to finally have the 4th edition in hand. I bought the 2nd edition many years ago and it has always been a handy reference when there was no access to the internet. Can you believe that? no access to the internet? This little book is chocked full of conversions and charts for things you had no idea you didn't know.

This book can fit into your pocket but is also almost 900pgs long.It is filled with basically every table and formula you can imagine.It has calendars, how to tie numerous knots, how-to’s for most everything, first aid tips and tricks, sign language, basic physics and more.I can’t even begin to describe how much knowledge is condensed in this little book.This is excellent to keep in your traveling tool box, your vehicle’s glovebox, or with your emergency / bug-out supplies.Just buy it.

Sure, in today's digital age, one could easily and quickly look up facts or information with their phones.. But a signal isn't always available, and only 46% of Americans even *own* a smartphone. I'm among those 54%, and this is so immensely chock-full with facts and information that I probably still won't even need one. Now all that's left is to familiarize myself with the table of contents..

Holy crap this is awesome!! I work in maintenance and am often expected to be able to fix everything. I like muscle memory or the ability to do things I know or have done before. This book is great! Do I need to know the specific gravity of Igneous rocks? I know it with this book. Others will say this has small print. True, it is pocket sized so what would you expect.I am soon to purchase the desk sized book. Pumps and Tanks, Trigonometry, Planetary information, metal strength markings on screws, weather information, electrical wiring, and concrete strength are some of the items covered so far.Just buy this and you will find it useful
